Peptid GHRP-2 Medical Peptides

GHRP-2 (also known as KP 102) is a synthetic hexapeptide, a growth hormone releasing peptide (GHRP) that acts on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, thereby promoting growth hormone release with a mild stimulatory effect on PRL, ACTH and cortisol levels (Arvat et al. , 1997). GHRP-2 belongs to the second generation of GHRP right after GHRP-6. Compared to GHRP-6, GHRP-2 is considered to be more effective in stimulating growth hormone because it maintains a maximal increase in growth hormone levels over time. GHRP-2 has been shown to increase IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) levels, and even better results are obtained when co-administered with growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). It has a short biological half-life with a maximum concentration of approximately 15 minutes, but no longer than 60 minutes after administration. The natural physiological system responds to this peptide by increasing levels of calcium ions entering cells along with increased growth hormone release in response to the high amplitude of GHRP-2 pulsation (Wu et al., 1994). GHRP-2 and other ghrelin analogs increase the number of somatotropic cells involved in RH pulsing by inhibiting somatostatin, GHRH increases the pulse amplitude through pituitary or somatotropic cells in other ways. Unlike ghrelin, GHRP-2 is not lipogenic, meaning that it does not promote fat storage. In the early 1990s, one of the best-known studies took place, which was later published in 1997 in the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism. This study supported the theory that growth factor-releasing peptides (including Ipamorelin and GHRP-6) could help children and adults with growth hormone deficiency. After these large scientific studies, GHRP-2 began to be produced in large quantities. Other scientific laboratories have also confirmed the results of their studies, which show that GHRP-2 can actually help those who lack the ability to produce adequate human growth hormone. However, the results will vary with the use of GHRP-2, as individuals respond differently based on pituitary somatotropic cells and differences in GHRP receptor subtypes. In the physiological system, the effects are blocked by GRF receptor angatonists, which act through a different receptor than that occupied by the earlier GHRPs.

Storage Of Lyophilised Peptides

Peptides will arrive in lyophilised powder form. Short-term temperature change during shipping should not affect the product quality and efficacy. Peptides in lyophilised form are stable at room temperature for several weeks. We recommend storing the lyophilised peptides in freezer at temperature –20 °C. Most lyophilisates can be stable at this temperature for years without significant degradation. Repeated freezing and thawing of peptides should be avoided.

Storage Of Reconstituted Peptides

Reconstitution is the process of adding a diluent to a lyophilised powder to make it a liquid solution. Recommended diluent is physiological saline solution of Sodium Chloride 0,9% (NaCl). Lyophilised peptides should be allowed to warm to room temperature before the reconstitution. The shelf-life of reconstituted peptides is very limited. We recommend storing the reconstituted peptides in refrigerator at temperature 2-8 °C. Most peptides in solution can be stable at this temperature for 3 weeks. At storage temperature -20 °C, peptides in solution can be stable for 3 months. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided.
